Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited (‘Hang Seng Indexes Company’) manages and compiles the Hang Seng Family of Indexes, which cover stocks listed in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Our index series includes the Hang Seng Index, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index and the Hang Seng TECH Index, as well as Stock Connect, Greater Bay Area and sector-related indexes. As at the end of 2020, assets under management in products passively tracking indexes in the Hang Seng Family of Indexes had reached a total of about US$38 billion.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Head of Data.

Principal responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to align the data strategy with business strategy;
• Uplift the data driven culture and data maturity for the organization, Promote data as an asset;
• Define and Own the data roadmap that creates a best-in-class data and analytic capability which enable identification of new products and market opportunities to drive innovation; 
• Establish and execute the mechanism of data governance (Data standard, Single source of Truth and Data quality assurance);
• Oversee the Team for data BAU operation that empowers Hang Seng Indexes with trusted data;
• Establish Proactive Data Quality Management and Data Quality Monitoring solution;
• Enhance data accessibility across the teams to stand up the self-service model;
• Chair Data Steering Committee to drive the strategic discussion for the future state of the firm’s data capability

Requirements 

• University degree or above in Information System, Finance, Business Admin, or a related discipline;
• 15+ years’ experience, preferably with financial data management background;
• Sound understanding of Data Lake, Master Data Management technology landscape, processes and design principles;
• Sound understanding of financial data (Equity market data) from data vendors (eg. Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Factset, WIND);
• Strong Experience in Data Governance, establishing and enforcing data operating model and standardized operating procedure; with no less than 7 years of experience in managing data warehouse on Cloud and performing data cleansing;
• Demonstrated knowledge in using cloud, data management platforms and tools, e.g. GCP, AWS, AI/ML, Collibra and other data management utilities etc.;
• Experiences on data dictionary, business glossary, data catalog and data quality solutions is preferred;
• Strong project management and business analysis experience with excellent problem solving and interpersonal skill;
• Acute communicator with proven track record in influencing senior stakeholders;
• Proven team coaching and expansion experience;
• Proficiency in Python, Tableau a plus
• Proficiency in both English and Chinese
• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
