Responsibilities:

  • To conduct research and fieldworks for beefing up the information of the 480 local intangible cultural heritage (ICH) items;
  • To assist in monitoring large-scale research projects conducted by educational institutions;
  • To assist in developing the online ICH Database for public access;
  • To compile lists of reference materials for studying ICH items on the Representative List;
  • To identify visual images for the online ICH Databases; and
  • To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required by supervisors.

Requirements

  • A 2nd class honour or above bachelor’s degree or higher level qualification in History, Anthropology. Cultural Studies, Education, Media Communications, or other heritage and cultural related fields;
  • An excellent command of both Chinese and English, met the language proficiencies requirements of Level 2 in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE)
  • Or
  • Grade C or above in Use of English and Chinese Language and Culture/ Chinese Language and Literature of HKALE
  • Or
  • Level 5 or above in English Language and Chinese Language of HKDSEE
  • (An overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in IELTS within the two-year validity period of the test result are considered as having met the English language proficiency requirement of the post)
  • At least 2 years of relevant full time working experience in museum or cultural institute;
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in coordinating, planning and / or implementing exhibitions, educational and /or other public programmes relating to local heritage in the past 3 years;
  • Fluency in Putonghua and English as well as good command of computer and word-processing (in both English and Chinese)
  • Work experiences with practitioners in heritage and cultural sector in the Mainland and overseas will be an added advantage.
