Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Human Resources Manager (Employee Relations)

The Department
The Human Resources Department comprises a corporate service unit on Clubwide HR issues and client-based service teams, each of which provides value-added services to designated business units within the Club. Our focus is on a customer service, business-driven and cost-effective orientation to human resources management.

The Job
You will :
• Liaise with external stakeholders including the Labour Department, relevant institutions, professional bodies, trade unions, etc. on employee / industrial matters;
• Develop sound relationships with business units to promote good employee relations across the Club in strict compliance with local legislations;
• Execute ER programmes including employee engagement and staff welfare programmes, such as staff interest groups and staff discount programmes, to engage employees of different backgrounds to shape their attitude and behaviour in alignment with the Club’s value and objectives;
• Recommend good practices in employee engagement and communication in line with established HR strategies;
• Cultivate open and transparent communication channels (top down and bottom up approach) with staff in pursuit of the Club’s objectives and obtain staff’s feedback that will form the basis for continuous improvement and enhancement;
• Identify effective means to facilitate two way communication (top down and bottom up approach) to minimize risks due to any miscommunications and recommend mitigating measures to address upsurge of potential misalignment of the Club’s key messages;
• Continuously review the effectiveness of important communication tools, including the intranet, mobile app, staff newsletter and posters.

About You
You should :
• Have a university degree or equivalent with professional training in HRM/Communication or a related discipline;
• Have a minimum of five to eight years of HR management experience with track record of delivery of employee engagement and communication initiatives;
• Possess good people skill, and the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under pressure;
• Be fluent both in written and spoken English and Cantonese. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.

Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
