Harrow International School Hong Kong is the first international boarding and day school in Hong Kong. It is the third school in the Harrow family of schools in the Asia region and provides a British independent style of education from Early Years to Year 13 in custom-built facilities in a stunning location in Hong Kong. The School combines elements of educational philosophy, practice and traditions from Harrow School in London with the international mindedness of a diverse student body in Hong Kong. Having opened in September 2012, the School roll is currently 1300. The Human Resources Officer who will be part of a vibrant and active team working towards providing services in their specific skills to our students, parents and academic staff.

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for wide spectrum of human resources functions with focus in recruitment and account servicing.

Reporting Line:

Human Resources Manager

Specific aims and key responsibilities are:

  • Involvement in full employee life cycle from recruitment and selection, on-boarding, engagement and development to off boarding
  • Act as the primary contact person for HR related enquiries and matters and provide first line and professional HR advice to members of staff, including expatriates
  • Involvement in recruitment including but not limited to prepare job advertisements, select and interview candidates, prepare contracts and conduct orientation
  • Assist the Human Resources Manager to arrange expatriates’ on boarding logistics, including flight arrangement, visa application, teacher registration, apartment searching, etc
  • Ensure compliance with Hong Kong Labour Ordinance and local regulations
  • Provide HR administrative and clerical support, documents and report preparation
  • Handle ad hoc projects as assigned

The successful candidate will be likely to fit the following profile:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ HR working experience gained from multi-cultural working environment

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good knowledge of HR practices, employment ordinance and other HR related legislations
  • Fluency in English and Cantonese and conversational Mandarin
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proactive team member with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skill and numerical sense
  • Responsible, detail-minded, people-oriented and multi-tasking
  • Confidence to deal with expatriates and different levels of members of staff
  • Less working experience will also be considered
