Information Assistant
Information Technology Services Centre

The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing daily operational and onsite support to the university smartcard system, Active Directory, VMware system, main data centre and secondary data centre; (b) assisting in daily system operation, administration, user account management and disaster recovery drill; (c) undertaking duties at HelpDesk to provide technical and on-site support for campus users, alumni and hostel residents; (d) assisting in the development of customized application programming interfacing (API) between the systems; (e) assisting in the testing, site work and development of the new infrastructure projects; and (f) assisting in system maintenance, security control, perform diagnose and troubleshoot of system faults and any other duties as requested by supervisor. The appointee will also be required to work shifts or irregular hours.

Requirements
Candidates should have (i) a Higher Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Engineering or related disciplines; (ii) at least 2 years of working experience in IT and preferable experience with and/or knowledge of script languages such as Powershell, C#, Linux shell script, SQL and PHP; (iii) hands-on experience in operational and technical support of Active Directory, VMware system and data centre environment; (iv) sound knowledge in PC hardware, Windows and Linux operating system; and (v) good customer service skills and service attitude. Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.

Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
