Instructor in Fashion Business (Ref. 21021907)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) engage in teaching and learning activities, and conduct lectures, tutorials, seminars and practical sessions in the related subject areas;

(b) prepare and develop teaching materials, design teaching and assessment strategies, deliver teaching in academic settings appropriate for the objective of learning, interact with and motivate students, and assess the performance of and give feedback to students;

(c) contribute to the development of subject curriculum and overall teaching and learning approach as well as in subject administration and activities pertaining to programme management;

(d) assist in the development and management of relevant teaching facilities;

(e) participate in scholarly research and consultancy projects; and

(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Institute or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a master’s degree, preferably with a PhD degree, in a relevant discipline, or a relevant professional qualification;

(b) not less than two years of post-qualification tertiary teaching experience and/or industrial experience in fashion marketing and retail management, preferably at international level;

(c) demonstrated promise of a high level of competence in teaching and carrying out subject administration responsibilities;

(d) sound knowledge of university teaching in the areas such as digital marketing and data analytics, retail buying and merchandising, quality management, brand management and consumer understanding, and/or international trade;

(e) solid technical skills of computer design software; and

(f) good communication skills and the ability to use English as the medium of instruction.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
