Job Description

IT Program Director

Advanced Manufacturing Group Ltd. (AMG) is looking for an IT Program Director to manage multiple, large scale and complex implementation projects that would allow AMG to grow and lead the footwear sourcing industry. These implementation projects have the priority and backing of the Executive Board. The role would suit someone who has come from a small to medium size organization and has worked with industry-leading IT Solution suppliers as an IT Director with a ‘Can do' approach and results focused mindset. Additionally, you will be comfortable managing teams, setting expectations and striving towards continuous improvement with strict timeframes in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

The IT Program Director will report into the Director of Operations, and

  • Will be responsible for managing a variety of implementations of IT Solutions from initiation through execution and closure, by working closely with chosen IT Solution Providers
  • Monitor project progress throughout project life cycle, communicate project status effectively to senior and executive management through reports, presentations and individual meetings
  • Coordinate with the different departments to translate requirements into solutions
  • Initiate and manage kick-off meetings
  • Identify resource needs, constraints and inter-dependencies. Capture and manage project risks and issues and associated mitigation strategies
  • Monitor and control project budgets
  • Provide project management training, assistance and mentoring on project management methodologies, tools and techniques
  • Prepare Training Documentation and provide training to both Key- and End-Users of implemented systems to the different departments
  • Manage the SIT and UAT before project/system go live.
  • Utilize analytical skills to make critical decisions and recommendations to solve project-related problems
  • Work directly with both suppliers as customers to integrate implemented solutions
  • Gather user experiences of implemented solutions by means of Brain Storm Sessions and translate that into proposed improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in a project management role and delivering multiple and complex PLM, ERP, Finance and other applicable system implementation projects
  • Certified in project management methodology (ideally by PRINCE2, PMI, APM, or equivalent), and demonstrated experience in and knowledge of Scrum and Agile practices is essential
  • Proven change management experience in a senior role within a manufacturing and/or sourcing industry
  • Excellent Oral & Written Communication and Presentation Skills in English. Mandarin is additionally preferred
  • Expected travel within Asia is about 20%, with most of the time spent in China
  • Flexibility to work in evenings and weekends, if and when needed

  • Master’s degree
  • Knowledge and experience in the processes of Product Development, Supply Chain Management and Financial Management of Footwear and Footwear Manufacturing
  • Candidates having software background in the initial career phase and gradually moved to Project Management role
  • Candidates having a financial background
