We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as IT Programme Manager, Data Services.

In this role, you will

  • Driving sustainable growth. Engages across HSBC to drive, deliver and support sustainable growth in revenue and market share in line with HSBC’s strategy.
  • Achieving excellence. Drives business results and collaboration, persevering under pressure.
  • Project Management. Works with stakeholders to agree project and programme strategy and objectives. Creates detailed project and programme plans taking into account time, resource and budget constraints.
  • Change and Implementation Management. Architects complex, large scale change solutions, specifying all elements of the change journey and audience impacts. Optimises the use of global solutions in delivering business requirements to consolidate and support the deployment of the global business model.
  • Ensures the analysis and interpretation of comprehensive information in order to provide commercially viable and sustainable solutions.
  • Customer focus. Champions activities encouraging outstanding service and enhancing customer advocacy.
  • Strengthen stakeholder relationships. Uses relationship management skills and tools to responsibly influence decisions and stakeholder advocacy.
  • Promotes the most appropriate sustainable customer solution even when less profitable for HSBC in the short term.
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
  • Collaboration. Builds rapport and mutual understanding to communicate and create opportunities for cross business and international working, encouraging debate and open discussion.
  • Coaching. Contributes to the establishment of good coaching and mentoring practices.
  • Creates and promotes opportunities for networking, bringing influential people together, adopting successful practices and ideas wherever they come from.
  • Identifies and builds relationships with key contacts and influencers internally and externally in order to enhance business and stakeholder outcomes.
  • Managing risk responsibly. Drives implementation of best practice in risk policies and governance frameworks.
  • Risk and issue management. Anticipates risks, issues, dependencies that are not easily evident and helps others to recognise them. Ensure business and operational risks are appropriately controlled in line with Group and business objectives.
  • Promotes ethical management of risk across regions and business areas within their teams.
  • Creates an environment which anticipates risk, ensuring action is taken to quantify and mitigate them

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

  • University degree in computer science, information technology or a related discipline.
  • Programme Management experience in the financial industry, specifically in data management, system development, implementation or system integration.
  • Proven track record in managing data management initiatives or data programme.
  • Possess knowledge of the regulation affecting the data regulations in China.
  • Experience to liaise with all relevant parties in IT and work with senior business stakeholders.
  • Strong Leadership skill to drive the business forward, managing matrix project teams, with the ability to work effectively as part of the programme.
  • Solid programme or project management skills in initiation, analysis, design, test and transition PMP and Agile SCRUM certification would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of IT systems functioning in general and a good understanding of the data management policy such as Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Modeling and Architecture, Data Usage and Flow will be an advantage.
  • Effective communication skills in spoken and written English.
  • With a positive, proactive and can do attitude.
  • Willing to travel Mainland China when required.
  • Candidates with lesser experience will be considered for the IT Project Manager role.
