IT Technician in the Department of Geography

IT Technician in the Department of Geography (Ref.: 498759) (to commence on November 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelors degree in Geographic Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science or a related discipline. They should have at least 3 years work experience in database development and management, and spatial analysis. Experience in Big Data and/or Data Warehousing, and Cloud server would be an advantage. He/She should also have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to work independently; and a strong sense of responsibility.

The appointee will be responsible for the development and operations of the Urban & Transport Laboratory and its provision of services, and perform other duties as assigned.
