The primary responsibilities of the Junior Testing Technician in the Hong Kong laboratory is to perform material testing on bulk and new materials as needed to support the Purchasing, Product Development, and Quality needs of the US offices.   This individual will test for conformance against specifications and identify when materials fail to comply.   Will provide test results and recommendations to the supplier / vendor / material sourcing under Manager’s guidance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Test materials as needed to support the efforts of the Hong Kong laboratory
  • Certification Garment Washing test, evaluation and comment to Garment Vendors
  • Advise suppliers of rejections/approvals of bulk materials and communicate this to Purchasing.
  • Monitor and bring up new fabric suppliers
  • Perform testing on special projects, requests, correlation evaluations, etc. as directed by Manager.   Provides recommendations for materials not conforming to spec.
  • Keep the machineries and equipment well maintained by working with machine vendors and service providers
  • Assist on the special projects & assignment advised by Supervisor.

 

Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent with experience in laboratory testing.
  • Strong communication skills and organizational skills
  • Competent PC skills (spreadsheets, word processing, presentation)
  • Chinese and English proficiency
