Our client is an exciting cultural development site, with the main aim to promote affiliated publications and subject knowledge to the wider public. With their upcoming establishment due to open, they are requiring an experienced publication distributor to oversee the new publishing department and lead developments with expert knowledge.

Description

As the Lead of Publishing, you are expected to:

  • Work closely with the Director and curatorial team to set an effective publishing plan to achieve both local and international impact;
  • Lead the department with expert knowledge, and manage publication process from the content building, editorial, design, printing to distributions
  • Develop internal systems for internal and external vendor's publications use
  • Collaborate with relevant departments of the development site, to maximise revenue opportunities by proactively explore synergy opportunities;
  • Explore the white space of art and culture publications by initiating partnerships, ensure the publication programs remain sustainable and afresh;
  • Contribute professional insights and efforts to ad-hoc projects when deemed necessary

Profile

The successful candidate should be:

  • Holder of a recognised university degree, preferably in Education/ Literature, Arts, History, Design, Cultural Management, Museum Studies or equivalent;
  • Acquired at least 10 years of publishing experience, with management experience preferred;
  • Posses solid publishing experience and great understanding of distributing channels for both local and international reach;
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and share passion in publication business
  • Proficient in English and Chinese (Mandarin as a must) for both verbal and written contexts
