HKIA is a professional body for the architects in Hong Kong, the running of which is governed by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Incorporation Ordinance (Chapter 1147). HKIA is mandated to promote the architectural excellence and to raise the standard of professional architectural services provided by members. HKIA Secretariat is currently composed of around 34 staff in Hong Kong and 2 in Beijing.

The Architects Registration Ordinance (Chapter 408) is an Ordinance to provide for the registration of architects and disciplinary control of the professional activities of registered architects, and for related matters. The Architects Registration Board is a body corporate established under the Ordinance consisting ten members appointed by the HKIA Council and one member appointed by the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

This post is expected to assist the ARB Registrar in ensuring that the statutory function of Architects Registration Board is carried out effectively and efficiently under the Architects Registration Ordinance (Cap. 408).

 

The Job:

(i) To provide adequate secretarial support to ARB meetings and its Committees, and arrange meeting(s) upon request.

(ii) To deal with queries from the registered architects, stakeholders, media and any other interested parties, and respond to questions on the matters falling within the ARB ambit;

(iii) To look after and supervise the work flow of registered architects’ registration process;

(iv) To handle disciplinary matters under the governing rules and guidelines of ARB;

(iv) To facilitate the implementation of online platform for registration of registered architects;

(vi) To undertake such other duties as assigned by the ARB Registrar cum Chief Operating Officer of Joint Secretariat from time to time.

 

The Person:

  • A recognized university degree; Experience in secretarial support to statutory bodies, semi quasi organizations, NGOs is a definite advantage.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; Good analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player with management staff and a team leader to coach subordinates in a fast-paced working environment independently; Willing to work overtime and take on ad-hoc tasks as and when necessary.
