Major Duties Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee all business and operational activities including insurance quotation, policy administration, and ensure the performance aligning with company’s standard quantitative and qualitative requirements
  • Formulate appropriate underwriting strategies and plans, and manage risk exposures through limits, risk accumulation controls and reinsurances.
  • Exercise sound underwriting assessments and treatments while on case underwriting to ensure that risks accepted are of marketable quality and overall portfolio achieves profitable result.
  • Compile market data, perform data analysis and provide statistics for strategic planning & product pricing
  • Play a key role in establishments of underwriting guidelines, operational procedures, determination of risk tolerance level and premium.
  • Perform portfolio analysis and management to align with the business strategies
  • Reinsurance administration


  • Candidates MUST have extensive knowledge & experience on general insurance underwriting and supervisory experience within an underwriting team.
  • Possession of ACII/ ANZIIF (Snr Assoc). Fellow of CII or ANZIIF is preferred.
  • 7 years’ relevant working experience in general insurance underwriting with minimum 3 years at managerial level.
  • Detail oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player with strong sense of ownership and able to work independently
  • Proficiency in MS office
  • Less experience will also be considered as Manager
