Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to plan and organize HKTB mega events from event / manpower planning, budgeting, to execution in order to showcase Hong Kong’s core strengths and offer visitors a total unique travel experience
  • Appoint vendors / service providers / production companies for event implementation and closely monitor their performance to make sure the quality of work is up to HKTB’s standard and requirements
  • Work closely with various government departments, public entities, venue providers in compliance of rules and regulations and timely coordination
  • Solicit sponsorship from potential corporations to secure additional funding for the events and ensure the sponsorship commitments are fulfilled
  • Initiate the overall event marketing plan and work with cross functional teams to produce promotional material to generate adequate promotion and publicity of the event and relevant exposure for event sponsors
  • Design manpower resources plan and ensure strict adherence to the work schedule and proper delivery and execution of each event
  • Ensure the team day-to-day operations are complied with policies and procedures of the HKTB
  • Undertake any other duties / special assignments as assigned by management

 

Requirements

  • University Degree holder with a minimum of 10 years’ solid experience in event management, marketing and promotions of large-scale outdoor events with at least 5 years at supervisory level in event management industry
  • With proven track record in handling large-scale international revenue generating events from planning, budgeting, development and successful implementation
  • Strong commercial sense to come up with effective marketing and promotional plans to optimize exposures for corporate sponsors
  • Good analytical skill in resolving problems / crisis, multi-tasking, good at time management and be able to deliver high quality work under pressure and tight deadline
  • Capable of overseeing the complete process from concept stage, through event marketing, launch and implementation. Strong organizational skill and attend to details
  • Good communication / influencing and leadership skills, to be able to persuade others, internally and externally, in particular for negotiating and running outdoor events when legal and contractual obligations are involved
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese, Putonghua is an added advantage
  • Proficiency in PC applications including MS Office and Chinese Word Processing
