We are currently looking for a professional who has a solid understanding of financial technology to join the Intermediaries Supervision Department to support its policy and supervisory work.

Reporting to Senior Manager, you will be tasked with performing supervisory inspections and assisting in a varied and challenging range of projects as follows:

  • On-site inspections of firms which use advanced technology in carrying out their business, including electronic trading firms, dark pool operators, virtual asset fund managers and trading platform operators, to review and assess their IT/ operational controls, risk management, business conduct and cybersecurity;
  • Participation in the development of regulatory responses and policy initiatives to address key issues identified; and
  • Interaction with intermediaries, other regulatory bodies and industry associations to communicate our regulatory standards and policies as well as build and maintain close working relationship with them.

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have relevant academic backgrounds such as a bachelor degree in business, IT or computer science;
  • Have 5 years of relevant working experience in the IT or financial industry;
  • Be proactive, analytical and resourceful in suggesting solutions to problems;
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Be self-motivated and result-oriented; and 
  • Have a strong sense of responsibility and impeccable integrity. Having exposure to distributed ledger technology and fintech related business activities or practical experience in data analysis (such as risk analytics and reporting) and relevant programming knowledge would be a great advantage.
