The HKUST Business School is searching for a capable and dynamic individual to fill the position of Manager, MBA/MSc Career Development. Serving in MBA/MSc Career and Professional Development teams, the role is designed to support a wide range of career events and the corporate development initiatives of the dedicated MBA or MSc Programs in order to strengthen our corporate relationship, enhance students’ employability, and create more internship and graduate placement opportunities for our students and graduates.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the appointee will focus on the following areas: 

  • Corporate and Employer Relations: Develop a pipeline of potential employers for the career team to generate suitable internship and full-time job opportunities for MBA students. Build and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, including employers, industry professionals and alumni to understand the MBA job market and share market intelligence with the career team and students. 

  • Career Coaching: Provide one-to-one coaching for students to understand their career aspirations and job search progresses; provide guidance to students and be an effective facilitator to map suitable career opportunities for students. Work with students on resume & cover letter writing, and improve their interview skills. 

  • Career Events and Training Management: Work closely with the Assistant Director to develop the annual plan of career events and training. Design and organize career training to improve students' job searching skills and enhance students’ industry knowledge. Organize and contribute to a wide range of career events, including but not limited to regular campus talks; annual career fair; corporate reception events, and attend overseas career treks. Working on weeknights or during weekends will be required occasionally. 

  • Lead Projects of Career Team: Demonstrate flexibility and ability to lead a range of projects, such as resume books publication; process improvement of career team’s online systems; facilitate onboarding of new career coaches, and develop career workshops with external vendors.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of work experience. Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, training management or career coaching will be desirable.  Prior experience in banking & finance, technology firms or consulting industry is a plus.  Ideal candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills; be able to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders; possess a mindset for making continuous improvement; be self-motivated, and ready for multi-tasking in a fast-moving environment.  An excellent command of written and spoken English and fluency in Putonghua are highly preferred.  We highly value good team players and active problem-solvers. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
