Job Posting Details

The HKUST MBA Office is looking for a capable candidate to fill the position of Manager (MBA Programs). The appointee will oversee one of the assigned MBA programs and focus on the following areas: 

  • Program and Student Management: Oversee the student affairs operation of the assigned MBA programs to ensure efficiency; plan and implement student affairs strategically and effectively. The appointee may at times, need to streamline processes; coordinate with other teams; draw valid judgements; and uphold academic policies when necessary, to maintain and enhance students’ quality and readiness for post-MBA career development.

  • Student Engagement and Culture Building: Lead an assistant manager or an officer to act as the MBA students’ proxy of a dedicated MBA program; formulate annual communication plan with students. The appointee will need to actively engage students through various channels, such as in-person or online presentations; organization of enrichment activities that provide additional knowledge; professional email announcement; and individual or group chats, to build a professional and supportive student culture. He/She should be ready to work with various stakeholders to help students building a professional mindset for the post-MBA career.

  • New Initiatives and Ad-hoc Projects: Drive new initiatives that help creating value for the MBA programs; demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support ad-hoc projects or administrative tasks according to seasonal or new development needs.

  • Budgeting: Monitor the expenses on relevant student cohorts to ensure effective use of resources.


Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree, with substantial years of work experience. The ideal candidate should be proactive and ethical. He/She should also be a high-performer and an efficient problem-solver who can work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The appointee must be hands-on at work and capable of leading and coaching a small team to drive results. Prior experience in global higher education; talents management; business development; and project planning would be an advantage. An excellent command of communication skill in both verbal and written English and Chinese (including Mandarin) is a must. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM (Salesforce) is required. Working outside office hours and on occasional weekends will be required.
(Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
