The CIC is looking for a highly talented individual to fill the position of:
Manager – Research & Development

The applicant must possess

  1. a recognised degree in engineering / surveying / architecture or other construction-related discipline;
  2. a minimum of 10 years post-qualification work experience in research and / or construction-related field;
  3. profound knowledge in budgetary control, planning and / or project management will be an advantage;
  4. a high level of integrity and a sense of accountability;
  5. strong interpersonal skills;
  6. proactive, resourceful, creative, energetic character and can work independently; and
  7. excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Duties include

The incumbent will report to the Senior Manager of the Research & Development and is expected: 

  1. to participate in the formulation and execution of the Registration Services’ strategic and annual plan and budget;
  2. to utilise the Construction Workers’ Registration Database and other sources to generate business analytics relevant to the demand and supply of manpower resources of the construction industry;
  3. to make use of the Construction Workers’ Registration Database to conduct industry surveys;
  4. to review operating model of existing registration services, and develop operating model for new registration services;
  5. to involve in the management of Construction Workers’ Registration Database, including but not limited to its data control and reports;
  6. to assist the Senior Manager – Council Services in providing secretariat support to the related Board, committees, sub-committees and working groups;
  7. to liaise with the construction industry and relevant stakeholders on registration service matters, and participate in engaging them; and
  8. to carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the CIC.


The position is on a renewable fixed-term contract (subject to performance and operational needs) for a period of 2 years.
