Native English Writer (Ref. 20072805)
[Appointment period: six months]


The appointee will be appointed at the substantive level of Technical Writer and will be required to:

(a) work on a wide variety of English writing and editorial assignments from press releases and feature stories, to social media posts, publications, speeches and/or other communications materials;

(b) contribute ideas and vet information to enhance content quality;

(c) collaborate closely with team members to ensure the presentation of ideas in the best way;

(d) provide professional editorial services in English, from proofreading to copy editing and technical editing; and

(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or her delegates.

Applicants should: 

(a) have a recognised degree with at least five years of solid editorial experience in the context of corporate communications and public affairs, media related experience being an added advantage; 

(b) have an excellent command of written and spoken English, equivalent to the level of a native English speaker;

(c) demonstrate solid experience in the related areas of work;

(d) possess a positive attitude, creativity, good interpersonal skills, and be highly independent and motivated;

(e) be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; and

(f) have good computer literacy and be familiar with MS Office.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
