The English Schools Foundation (ESF) is the largest English-medium international school organisation in Hong Kong. Our 22 schools and comprehensive programme of extra-curricular activities bring out the best in every student through a personalised approach to learning and by inspiring curious minds.

Job Description
Peak School is seeking to appoint a nurse to join our school. The Nurse's primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth operation of the medical room in order to provide professional, immediate and appropriate medical support to the students and staff of the school.


Main accountabilities

  • Support/follow the school systems and practices to keep everyone safe during Covid
  • Respond to the needs of children reporting sick, prioritize and support them as appropriate.
  • Deciding upon and carrying out First Aid care.
  • Maintain records of all visits to the Medical Room and report as appropriate.
  • Making arrangements to send students home or recommend hospitalization, where necessary.
  • Update daily numbers of absences, monitoring the symptoms of students across the school and liaising with the CHP where appropriate.
  • Advising and educating patients on follow-up care, general health matters or immunization etc.
  • Coordination of hearing- and vision tests, counselling, immunizations and vaccinations.
  • Liaising with class teachers and senior managers on problems with students.
  • Responsible for maintaining the medical room in good condition by ordering and maintaining adequate supplies and keeping he room clean and sanitary.
  • Responsibility for Accident and Insurance Form completion and follow up.
  • Communicating with parents on health related matters via the appropriate channels i.e. The Newsletter and ESF App.
  • Promoting healthy living with students and liaising with teachers to make appropriate links with UOIs particularly the Relationships, Sexuality and Health (RSE) units.
  • Taking part in the Health & Safety committee meetings.
  • Collate information for Health Department’s Student Health and Dental Services.
  • Provide staff with First Aid kits for camps, excursions trips etc.

The position reports to the office manager and the LMT.



  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents and staff.
  • Have the ability to support teachers seamlessly and yet be assertive when emergency situations arise.


The applicant must be a fully qualified Registered Nurse (Hong Kong or other country) who can speak and write fluently in English. Previous experience working with children and an understanding of the organisational and operational structure of a school system would be an advantage but not essential.

Applicants must be a permanent Hong Kong resident or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.
