Job Posting Details

The University is now looking for a high caliber professional to join our electrical services unit of the building services (operation & maintenance) team.

The appointee will provide administrative and technical support on operation and maintenance of the University’s electrical installations including LV/ELV installations with main focus on LV switch boards, bus-ducts, UPS, lighting and power distribution systems, emergency generators, WR2 works, etc. to ensure they are operated and maintained in a safe, reliable and efficient manner.

The appointee will be responsible for the following duties:

  1. Act as BS duty controller;
  2. Supervise in-house staff and service contractors;
  3. Design and prepare tender documents and work/purchasing orders including specifications and drawings;
  4. Arrange and attend hand-over inspection of new projects;
  5. Liaise and coordinate with internal parties, end-users and services contractors on the planned maintenance, daily operation, replacement, improvement and upgrading works of electrical services installations;
  6. Hands-on work on various electrical services installations; and
  7. Perform shift duty and attend emergency duties.

Applicants should have an associate degree/higher diploma/higher certificate in electrical engineering, building services engineering or related disciplines plus at least 6 years of relevant work experience, 3 years of which should be at supervisory level. Applicants must have a valid Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker at Grade “B” or above. A good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua) as well as AutoCAD application is essential. The ideal candidate should also have good analytical and organizational skills, strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
