Within HSBC Operations, Services and Technology, Global Service Delivery is a leader in the development of services and processes that are designed around the customer and enable the firm to demonstrate to regulators that its processes and ways of working will deliver consistently high standards of compliance. Every day, customers all over the world are paying bills, buying homes and setting up companies and every day, Global Service Delivery teams are making sure all this happens smoothly.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Officer, Corporate Actions.

In this role, you will

  • Perform checker and approver function for work prepared by Corporate Actions Assistants
  • Supervise the whole process during corporate actions life cycles and take follow-up action internally and externally to ensure no corporate events is missed or delayed
  • Run the daily operational tasks and reports any irregularity and abnormality to supervisors in a timely manner as well as provides on-the-job training to Corporate Actions Assistants
  • Own the operational control functions delegated by supervisors and perform reconciliation where applicable, alert of any change in regulatory requirement in order to perform tasks meeting compliance standard
  • Handle client and business partners’ enquiries
  • Perform adhoc request from supervisors including Information Technology system User Acceptance Test

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

  • Good understanding of securities industry and possess adequate level of knowledge in global securities market and products including Equities, Bonds, Certificate of Deposits, Unit Trust or Derivative products. Understanding of market convention and practice is a must
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with counterparties
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skill
  • Good command of spoken and written English, best with oral Mandarin
  • Good knowledge in using Microsoft Excel and Word and Group Securities Systems including Bloomberg, Terminal, Central Clearing and Settlement System
