The School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) is a self-financed arm of the Vocational Training Council (VTC). It offers top-up bachelor’s degree and master’s degree programmes to VTC’s Higher Diploma graduates and other sub-degree and degree holders in collaboration with overseas universities. Applications are now invited for the posts of Part-time (Daytime) Lecturer and Part-time (Daytime) Project Supervisor for the programme of BSc (Hons) Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity at SHAPE (Chai Wan) in the academic year 2021/22.

Subject Areas of Lecturer:
(i) Ethical hacking
(ii) Research projects in Cybersecurity
(iii) Data recovery and digital forensics
(iv) Network management and design
(v) Systems security
(vi) Academic writing skills for dissertation and research projects

Subject Area of Project Supervisor:
Dissertation and research projects in Cybersecurity

Major Duties of Lecturer:
(a) To perform teaching duties at bachelor’s degree level;
(b) To mark and provide guidance on student’s assessments and projects;
(c) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials with both international and local contexts and practices;
(d) To carry out academic related administration duties, including serving in academic and other related meetings;
(e) To attend professional training and/or seminars as invited by the School, where necessary; and
(f) To participate in school projects and functions, where necessary.

Major Duties of Project Supervisor:
(a) To perform teaching duties at bachelor’s degree level;
(b) To mark and provide guidance on student’s assessments and projects;
(c) To carry out academic related administration duties, including serving in academic and other related meetings;
(d) To attend professional training and/or seminars as invited by the School, where necessary; and
(e) To participate in school projects and functions, where necessary.

Requirements:
(a) A recognised Master degree in related discipline(s). Candidates having a Master’s degree in other disciplines together with a track record of high-level professional qualifications in cybersecurity related areas will also be considered;
(b) At least 4 years’ relevant teaching experience at tertiary level or relevant work experience in the subject area(s) concerned; and
(c) For the post of part-time Project Supervisor, experience in dissertation / project supervision is preferable.

Notes:
(1) Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written test in English.
(2) The post of Project Supervisor is in the rank of Lecturer.
