Established by the Hong Kong Government in 1989, OUHK today has developed into a young, dynamic, full-fledged university. We began offering full-time face-to-face programmes since 2001 and currently have about 10,000 full-time and 9,000 part-time students in the five Schools at the OUHK with about 220 programmes of studies. In addition, there are about 2,000 full-time/part-time students studying in LiPACE.

The University is seeking a Part-time Research Assistant for the Research Project “Engaging Persons with Early Dementia and Their Family Caregivers in Advance Care Planning in the Community: A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial” [R6303]. The project aims at testing out the effectiveness of an advance care planning programme for persons with early dementia.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee shall mainly be responsible for the following:

  • preparing training materials and study-related document;
  • coordinating the recruitment of subjects;
  • liaising with study site;
  • conducting health talks;
  • collecting and transcribing data;
  • assisting in data analysis; and
  • providing assistance in other areas related to the research project.

 

Requirements
Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • a Bachelor’s degree preferably in nursing, healthcare discipline, or social science; and
  • proficient in using MS Office software, Words and Chinese word processing, SPSS.

 

Duration of Appointment
17 hours per week, for a period of 5 months commencing from October 2019.

 

Terms of Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
