Established by the Hong Kong Government in 1989, The Open University of Hong Kong today is the largest self-financing university in Hong Kong and has developed into a dynamic, innovative, full-fledged university comprising 6 Schools.

 

The University has been offering full-time programmes since 2001 and joined the Joint University Programmes Admission System (JUPAS) since 2007. Currently, the University offers about 200 programmes of studies with around 10,000 full-time undergraduates and 1,000 postgraduates, and more than 8,000 part-time students in its 5 Schools namely School of Arts and Social Sciences, Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration, School of Education and Languages, School of Nursing and Health Studies and School of Science and Technology. In addition, there are more than 2,000 full-time and 2,000 part-time students studying in Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education (LiPACE).

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointees will be required to assist in, and where necessary, undertake course planning, development and delivery of the full-time face-to-face undergraduate programmes. Major duties include conducting tutorials, marking assignments/examination scripts and performing other related teaching and administrative duties.

 

Requirements

Requirements for relevant courses are specified as follows: 

  • BSCI A124F Psychology for Nurses: Principles and Application

Applicants should possess a higher degree in Psychology or a related discipline.  They should have teaching/professional experience.  Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

Applicants should at least possess a recognized degree in Political Science, or a related discipline. Preference will be given to those with a relevant higher degree and teaching experience at tertiary level.

 

  •  PSYC A328F Consumer Psychology

Applicants should possess a higher degree in Psychology or a related discipline. They should have teaching/professional experience. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage. 

 

  • PSYC A329F Industrial-organizational Psychology

Applicants should possess a higher degree in Psychology or a related discipline. They should have teaching/professional experience. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage. 

 

  •  PSYC A331F Research Methods in Psychology

Applicants should possess a higher degree in Psychology and be able to analyse and interpret SPSS data.  They should have teaching/professional experience.  Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

 

  • PSYC A341F Psychology of Ageing

Applicants should possess a higher degree in Psychology or a related discipline. They should have teaching/professional experience. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

Compensation Package

Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
