About the Operations Accounting Team

The Payroll Manager will be within the Operations Accounting function. It is responsible for supporting our fast-growing business attending to the needs of our employees.

A day in the life:

Reporting to the Manager, Payroll in Vancouver and Finance Manager in Hong Kong, working closely with our People & Culture team

  • Oversee, provide direction and act as a reference point for Payroll Administrators in China, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong ensuring that all payrolls are processed accurately and on time
  • Coaching and mentoring of direct reports
  • Seek continuing improvements of service standards to support the Asia payroll team and promptly advise management of payroll issues and working with parties to resolve
  • Be in partnership with People & Culture team on delivering coaching on payroll and welfare related topics
  • Be responsible for input and processing of Singapore, Malaysia and Macau payrolls
  • Payroll research for new markets – participating in new market team meetings


  • Bachelor degree or above. Knowledge of using software relating to payroll / HR / Time & Attendance accounting systems such as Ceridian Dayforce, Workday, ADP Payroll and Oracle
  • Good command of English and expert in customer service skills
  • Pay attention to details and accountability
  • Over 3 years people management experience
  • Over 3 years Payroll Administration experience in Hong Kong, with regional experience preferred
  • Knowledge of current wage and labor related legislations, social welfare, taxation rules in Singapore, Malaysia and/or Macau is an advantage as well as knowledge of labor legislation in Japan, Korea, China and Hong Kong
  • Experienced in setting up social welfare structure in new markets will be an advantage
