Swire Hotels has been created to manage soulfully individual hotels in Hong Kong, Mainland China and the USA, providing a characterful experience for well travelled individually minded travellers who seek originality, style and personalised service.We create distinctive hotels with a sense of place that break with convention.

The company’s first hotel, The Opposite House in Beijing, opened in 2008 and was followed by The Upper House, Hong Kong, and then by EAST, Hong Kong, EAST, Beijing, The Temple House, Chengdu and EAST, Miami. The Middle House in Shanghai, our latest addition, opened in April 2018.

A restaurant division was set up in 2013 to manage the company’s stand-alone restaurant operations.Our first restaurant Plat du Jour opened in November 2013 followed by Public and Ground Public in Quarry Bay.The Continental in Pacific Place opened in October 2014 and Mr & Mrs Fox in 2015, follow by the second Plat du Jour opened in Pacific Place in 2016.Our latest addition, Republic, a sub-brand of Public opened in Taikoo Place in December 2017.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the role of People Development as a business partner of the business
  • Understand the employment cycle and the administration involved
  • Get familiar with the recruitment channels and processes
  • Get familiar with the functions of HRIS and learn to maintain data integrity
  • Develop ability to multi-task, communicate professionally, coordinate with different stakeholders (e.g. managers, team members, applicants, vendors, other departments etc) efficiently and effectively
  • Develop time-management skills, presentation and organizational skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide end-to-end recruitment support for the team, and answer candidates’ and TMs’ enquiries where necessary
  • Check email accounts and respond to external enquiries
  • Check reports and collect reports according to monthly timeline
  • Update team members’ records on systems and prepare staff movement logistics
  • Maintain and update systems, e.g. HRMS, CLMS, SCM and internal portal etc.
  • Prepare regular reporting and internal communications
  • Assist in planning and implementing projects e.g. staff activities
  • Provide research, logistics and administrative support for the team on various projects and daily tasks

Job Requirements:

  • Positive, highly flexible and a strong team player
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Cantonese, proficiency in Putonghua would be definite advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Chinese Word processing
