Postdoctoral Fellow (Ref. 16112209)
[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment] 


The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Molecular and genomic study of complex diseases”. 


Applicants should have: 

(a)  a PhD in Human Genetics or Biomedical Science and an honours degree in Molecular Biology or Biomedical Science or an equivalent qualification with a good publication record and must have no more than three years of post-qualification experience at the time of application; 

(b)   concrete experience in disease gene mapping and follow-up studies (including functional studies), molecular biology and tissue culture; and 

(c)    experience in working as a member in a multidisciplinary team and grant proposal writing. 

Preference will be given to those with experience in some of the following novel genomic technologies: chromosome conformation capture, genomic editing (e.g. CRISPR-Cas technology), and next-generation sequencing.
