Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (HKAM) is an independent institution with statutory power to organize, monitor, assess, and accredit all medical and dental specialist training in Hong Kong. In addition, it provides and accredits continuing medical education and continuous professional development, ensuring compliance for the purpose of specialist registration.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute (HKJCDPRI) was established in 2014 and funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. It is housed in and led by HKAM, aiming to build a prepared community in Hong Kong to respond to disasters. The HKJCDPRI of the HKAM now recruits the following staff:

(Monthly Salary: MPS17 – 24 // 27 ; $35,040 - $48,860 // $55,995) 

Major Responsibilities:

  • To lead the development of HKJCDPRI’s upcoming new certificate course on Emergency and Disaster Management, with an outcome-based teaching and learning approach to meet the professional needs and requirement on qualifications framework level
  • To efficiently manage the financial and human resources associated with the course development and delivery
  • To provide administrative and technical support for the attainment of relevant course accreditation
  • To liaise and work with local and overseas academics, as well as industry practitioners, on programme design, delivery and evaluation

 
Requirements:

  • A holder of bachelor’s degree or above in Emergency / Disaster Management, Public Health, Sociology / Social Work, Pubic Administration, or Risk / Security Management
  • A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in the field, with at least 5 years at managerial level
  • Experience in programme development, management and review or teaching in relevant topics is preferred
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and Chinese
  • Self-motivated, well-organised and detail-minded with strong sense of responsibility
  • Knowledge of web, multimedia, or graphic design applications is preferred but not a must; and
  • Immediately available is preferred

The successful candidate will be employed on a contract basis, which is renewable subject to the appointee’s performance and the needs of the Academy. Starting salary will commensurate with qualification and experience of the successful candidate.
