Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide estimating assistance to the project team for tender submission during pre-construction period. The duties may include cost estimation, collecting and analyzing quotations to identify suitable sub-contractors and resources;
  • Prepare direct and indirect cost estimation; 
  • Control and register incoming tender documents, drawings and bills of quantities;
  • Study tender documents and drawings, and raise tender query if appropriate; 
  • Draft list of suppliers and sub-contractors for issuing tender enquiries for Senior Estimator’s comments;
  • Take off quantities from drawings for lump sum items; 
  • Bulk checking quantities in tender documents; 
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors; 
  • Identify suitable sources of supply, their costs and delivery; 
  • Identify suitable sub-contractors’ availability, their costs and workmanship;
  • Co-ordinate analysis of quotations and discuss with Senior Estimator for the use of most competitive and reliable price;
  • Assist in preparing tender submission. 
Requirements:
  • Higher Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Survey or equivalent; 
  • Member of HKIS, RICS is preferred. 
  • At least 8 years’ relevant experience in estimating; 
  • Less experience will be considered as Estimator.
