The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers 21 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. In 2020/21 academic year, ten programmes will be included in the HKSAR Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $42,800 to $74,600 per year. Major Duties:
(a) To manage the development and implementation of various institutional projects, including but not limited to greenspace projects, such as the management of THEi Greenhouse, Urban Farm and Hydroponic Farming Centre, and other such greening and sustainability initiatives;
(b) To oversee and coordinate the work of contractors for campus greening and landscape management, including tree management and vertical greening of THEi campuses (Tsing Yi and Chai Wan);
(c) To organise and facilitate workshops and demonstration projects on greening and organic farming involving the participation of staff and students from THEi and secondary schools;
(d) To plan, administer and coordinate with different OUs the effective implementation and promotion of sustainability initiative, as well as serving as Safety Officer for safety, health and environmental policy and implementation of THEi;
(e) To develop and manage other institutional projects as assigned, and
(f) To support operations of Campus Operations Office and other services provided by the Campus Operations Office as assigned.

Requirements:
(a) A relevant recognised Master’s degree in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Forestry, Ecology, Environmental Science, Landscape Management, Greening and Conservation, Sustainability, Plant Biology or related fields, or equivalent level of study;
(b) Solid experience and proven ability in the management of projects in arboriculture, agriculture, horticulture or landscape management from planning to implementation;
(c) Certified Arborist of The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), or equivalent would be an advantage;
(d) Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills;
(e) Proactive attitude, strong initiative and the ability to work independently and effectively in teams; and
(f) Strong leadership, organising and management abilities, willing to meet challenges and able to work under pressure.

Notes:
(1) The post is in the rank of Teaching Fellow I.
(2) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
