The Murray, Hong Kong is a high-profile preservation project designed by British international studio for architecture and integrated design Foster + Partners. Part of Hong Kong’s Conserving Central Project, the Hotel which was the stand-alone Murray Building is one of the city's most iconic landmarks. A member of Global Hotel Alliance’s Ultratravel Collection, the contemporary sanctuary features 336 oversized rooms and suites spanning 25 floors. Job Responsibilities:

Public Relations

  • Crafts an overall media relations plan in consultation with the Director of Communications, execute press outreach, media events, media calls, collateral, crisis communications support and press material development, achieving greater PR exposure for The Murray towards western markets, including but not limited US, UK, Europe and local English media
  • Drafts English press releases; prepares media kits and organizes press conferences as necessary
  • Writes speeches for the hotel’s leaders, develops publicity materials and prepares articles for corporate newsletters 
  • Develops, implements and manages media relations activities with appointed PR agency
  • Manages the development and effective distribution of media releases through internal resources and agencies and contractors wherever applicable

 

Marketing Communications

  • Co-directs and implements strategic direction of all marketing activities and priorities for The Murray and all its sub-brands.
  • Develops and implements all aspects of branding and corporate messaging through internal and external marketing channels
  • Shapes perception of the hotel through effective messaging, with full control of and responsibility for all aspects of external marketing and advertising activities in coordination with the Director of Communications
  • Implements marketing and communications activities ranging from articulating concepts in consultation with the Director of Communications, to drafting and creation of copy, coordination with outside vendors for design and production of marketing materials and collateral
  • Identifies advertising opportunities to create and institutionalise brand identity; plan and execute advertising campaigns
  • Coordinates with other Marketing Communications team members within Wharf Hotels and the greater Wharf Group to ensure consistent corporate branding and messaging across all relations and channels
  • Manages marketing resources, including detailed budget development, ongoing tracking and analysis of costs incurred and creation and evaluation of metrics for cost/benefits achieved

 

Job Requirements:

  • University Graduated
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in PR, Marketing Communications with International Luxury Hotels
  • Strong organising and administration skills. Good press/media contacts
  • Independent, have impeccable communication skills
