Job Purpose:

To develop research objectives, projects and proposals, undertake continuing research and evaluate outcomes in the field of Respiratory Medicine and Lung Transplantation. Plan, coordinate and implement research programmes in accordance with current research strategy, policy, procedures and funder requirements.

 

Research, Enterprise and Scholarship:


- Act as principal investigator or co-investigator on research projects

- Develop research objectives, projects and proposals.- Conduct individual or collaborative research projects.

- Identify sources of funding and contribute to the process of securing funds.

- Extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to research appropriate to the discipline.

- Writing or contributing to publications or disseminating research findings using media appropriate to the discipline.

- Make presentations at conferences or exhibit work at other appropriate events,

- Assess, interpret and evaluate outcomes of research.

- Develop new concepts and ideas to extend intellectual understanding.

- Resolve problems of meeting research objectives and deadlines.

- Develop ideas for generating income, promoting areas of research and influencing leading-edge practice.

- Develop ideas for application of research outcomes.

- Decide on research programmes and methodologies, often in collaboration with colleagues and sometimes subject to approval of the head of the research programme on fundamental issues.

- Contribute to knowledge generation, knowledge exchange and knowledge transfer activities.

 

Suitable Applicants:

- Candidates will have good experience of International Lung Transplantation Programmes and be able to lead research in related areas.

- They will have excellent communications and writing skills both in English and Chinese.

- A strong background in clinical and/or translational research.

- Applicants should possess a Ph.D., MD degree or equivalent.

- A minimum of 5-7 years postgraduate work experience is recommended.
