Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

With a team of local staff, Retail Manager will provide leadership in the following areas:

1. Retail Business Development and Operations

  • Responsible for the shop operations, visual merchandising, interior works and marketing functions of Hong Kong and Macau
  • Lead and direct a team of Boutique Managers / Supervisors to achieve Company’s sales target.
  • Implement effective retail operation policy and standards to improve operational efficiency and provide feedback
  • Oversee the systems, internal controls and procedures; Ensure all policies and procedures are complied with particularly in respect to cash management, stock management and store security
  • Work with the retail planning and merchandising team to put together viable buy plans based on historical sales trends and market needs

2. Retail P&L and Budgeting

  • Take charge of each boutique’s P&L and maximize profitability by driving sales, minimize operating costs through effective management of systems and information
  • Participate in the yearly budget

3. Staff Management and Development

  • In coordination with HR Dept. define competitive and retention policies for retail team, in order to attract, motivate and retail qualitative team members.
  • Ensure leadership and motivate retail operations team through effective communication, proper performances management
  • Work closely with HR Department in managing Succession Planning to identify potential staff talent and coordinate relevant L&D programs and career development plans

4. Customer Shopping Experience

  • In coordination with Product Development & Merchandising and Sourcing-Production Department, maintain in-store adequate products offer:

- Monitor actual sales performances
- Ensure proper stock replenishment

5. Customer Service Excellence

  • Train retail team to Brand's Customer Service Standards
  • Monitor on-going compliance and performance through staff and customer feedback
  • Ensure prompt and adequate handling of customers' complaints, special requests or comments

6. CRM, Loyalty Program and Promotion

Closely coordinate with CRM Department to implement the following tasks:

  • Using brand's tools, manage customer relationships effectively.
  • Ensure proper understanding and management of loyalty program by retail team members and encourage VIP's enrollment.
  • Monitor performances of CRM and Loyalty Program, and ensure they contribute to revenue increase.
  • Provide to Communication Division appropriate feedback on the effect of current marketing initiatives and provide input for new marketing programs.

7. Reporting

Supplies monthly quality and quantity reports to Management about:

  • Sales trends and budget variations -Activities implemented in the Areas (selection, training, meetings, openings) -Competitor’s analysis (new openings, events, product, etc.) -Information concerning social and cultural events -Regularly communicates all important market information to management

8. Others

Any other tasks assigned by management from time to time.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Degree holder of Business Administration, Fashion Retailing or relevant discipline
  • At least 5 years work experience in similar area of work,ideally gained with international specialty retailers in luxury or premium branded sector, preferably within Apparel and Accessories
  • Strong commercial, operations and business acumen
  • Able to manage internal and external business relationship; excellent communication skills to gel and develop the team
  • Must have retail staff recruitment experience
  • Entrepreneurship – strong business sense; Results driven and performances oriented
  • Passion with fashion and sensitive to global fashion trends
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. Other language is a plus.
  • Proficiency in PC operations such as MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
