Key Responsibilities

  • Updated on requirements and restrictions from governments and customers on the use of chemicals (e.g. ZDHC, REACH, CLP, CA Pro 65, SPSIA, AAFA, etc.)
  • Maintain and implement the TAL Chemical Management System (CMS), including but not limited to the following areas:
    • Chemical inventory and records;
    • Chemical storage and housekeeping;
    • Chemical handling and transportation;
    • Chemical labelling;
    • Chemical use;
    • Personal Productive Equipment;
    • Chemical waste and disposal; and
    • Emergency response
  • provide training to the relevant stakeholders to ensure awareness and understanding to the TAL CMS.
  • Conduct regular audits at TAL’s manufacturing locations to ensure compliance. Report to the Factory Management on cases of non-compliance and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Participate in valuation and approval of raw materials and chemical suppliers from a Chemical Management perspective


Requirements

  • Degree in Chemical/Health & Safety discipline
  • 8 years of relevant experience in chemical management
  • Experience in Garment / Textile / Manufacturing will be an advantage
  • Good command of both written & spoken English and Chinese including Mandarin
