The English Schools Foundation (ESF) is the largest English-medium international school organisation in Hong Kong. Our 22 schools and comprehensive programme of extra-curricular activities bring out the best in every student through a personalised approach to learning and by inspiring curious minds.

Job Description
ESF Sports and Language Centre is now looking for a Senior Coach (Swimming) to lead and coordinate the effective delivery and development of the ESF Sports programmes for Swimming.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the professional delivery and development of the ESL swimming programme.
  • Deliver a range of different swimming lessons to children with a range of abilities to the highest possible standards, ensuring that sessions are safe, fun-filled and effective.
  • Show recent evidence of coaching squads and developing new activities and initiatives to increase participation.
  • Be able to produce a structured and cohesive syllabus that incorporates progression for the students as well as a series of appropriate and professional lesson plans.
  • Lead part-time swimming coaches and ensuring standards across the programme are at their highest possible levels, as well as form good relationships with schools and other external agencies.

 

Requirement:

  • Minimum Level 2 qualified swimming coach
  • 5-8 years of recent experience in teaching/coaching young children in swimming
  • Experience in teaching competitive swimmers in squads at a club level or school PE swimming will be an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills, detailed planning and the ability to lead projects from the front are essential.
  • Self-motivated and possess a good understanding of planning, monitoring and evaluation of sessions and competitions.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • High Energy, enthusiastic, possess the ability to motivate others and to assist in the development of a team of full time or part time coaches
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments, ability groups, weather conditions and venue issues
  • Willing to work non-standard business hours
  • Passionate in the role and willing to go beyond call of duty
  • Display determination in helping team members and to problem solve proactively
