Senior Human Resources Manager (Project Management) (Ref. 19050303-IE)

The University has embarked on the development of an integrated Enterprise System (ES) for Human Resource, Compensation and Benefits Administration, and related resources planning and management to support the future development of the University. The Human Resources Office is looking for a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to champion the system implementation of the HR modules under the ES Project in partnership with the key stakeholders of the Project.


The appointee will be required to:

(a) lead the HR team of the Enterprise System Project towards achieving the project goal and to ensure smooth implementation of HR modules under the Project;

(b) oversee project organization, priorities setting, scheduling and execution;

(c) drive the development and execution of the project plan through working with the HR project team heads;

(d) drive deliverables from system implementers in providing effective support at various stages of system design and implementation;

(e) ensure effective communication amongst all project members, system implementers, users and key stakeholders at different levels;

(f) identify and track milestones, monitor project progress and ensure project issues and risks are identified and adequately managed and resolved;

(g) work closely with the other senior members of the Office to lead the implementation of changes in human resources policies and procedures and related change management under the Project; and

(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources or her delegates.


Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree;

(b) extensive solid and relevant post-qualification experience at managerial level, preferably gained from large organizations and with expertise in system development and implementation; knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors is an added advantage;

(c) ability to work in a fast-paced environment with great adaptability and a strong sense of ownership in driving various HR initiatives;

(d) strong leadership skills, with the courage and ability to come up with new ideas in the pursuit of continuous improvements;

(e) critical thinking, strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively at all levels;

(f) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; fluency in Putonghua is an advantage; and

(g) good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Those with less experience will be considered for the post of Human Resources Manager.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
