Reporting to the Director and working closely with senior management, the incumbent will be responsible for leading the Public Relations & Communications Department in the planning and implementation of internal and external communications inclusive event and brand management, brand and engagement programmes and media management.


Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement comprehensive public relations & communication strategies and plans to position the Welfare Council as an innovative and caring organization in social welfare sector;
  • Design and produce materials to effectively communicate the Welfare Council’s vision, mission, values and programme activities to general public;
  • Build up a brand awareness and enhance the image of the Welfare Council via different social media, events, campaigns and programmes, its services, activities and research, for enhancement of its reputation in the community;
  • Work closely with Resources Development Department to formulate fund raising strategies and establish relationship with donors and the community;
  • Develop and maintain professional network, and maintain relationships with external partners, stakeholders and mass media;
  • Liaise and communicate with the media, and manage media activitiesincluding press invitation, press releases and conferences, briefings, interviews, etc.;
  • Serve as media advisor in crisis management.


Requirements :

  • Bachelor degree or above in Public Relations / Marketing / Communications or related disciplines
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant and solid experience in journalism, corporate communications or public relations, preferably with experiences in social services sector or non-governmental organization
  • Able to explore complex ideas and turn it to comprehensive and interesting story
  • Self-motivated, out-going, presentable and creative person, with good analytical and organizing skills
  • Good command of both spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Experience in digital media communication and staff supervision is preferred
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Public Relations & Communications Manager


Two-year contract will be offered as a start. Candidates with satisfactory performance will be reappointed to permanent post after the first contract.
