Roles & responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and patient care services;
  • provide consultant services for the medical services centres of Tung Wah;
  • provide on-site medical examination and treatment to residents of Residential Care Homes (RCHs);
  • operate clinic of a specialty or sub-specialty;
  • liaise with external parties for service delivery and development;
  • maximize the use of medical facilities/equipment;
  • assist to manage quality assurance and risk control in service operation;
  • promote centres’ services and deliver health education to the public;
  • deliver talks such as health care and infection control to RCHs,
  • initiate and participate in evidenced-based practice and research;
  • undergo continuing medical education and professional development; and
  • perform any duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • a qualification registrable in Hong Kong under the Medical Registration Ordinance;
  • with at least 3 years of post-internship clinical experience as registered medical practitioner; and
  • with at least one of the following qualifications:
    (a) Fellow of Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Medicine) or equivalent; or
    (b) registered in the specialist Register of the Medical Council of Hong Kong; or
    (c) membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians/Obstetricians and Gynaecologist/Surgeons; or
    (d) postgraduate medical qualification quotable by the Medical Council of Hong Kong.

Compensation & employment terms:

The successful candidate will be appointed on contract terms with a salary currently at $70,090 per month (Tung Wah Master Pay Scale Point 33) plus a monthly allowance currently at $7,975 and housing allowance. Entry salary and monthly allowance depend on years of recognized experience. The salary and allowance are subject to downward/upward adjustment or may be frozen as determined by Tung Wah and/or as appropriate with reference to the civil service pay review. The fringe benefits include paid leave, medical services, dental scheme and training sponsorship. A 15% contract discretionary payment (to be offset by the total amount of contributions made by Tung Wah under the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme) will be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract period.
