THE JOB

Reporting to the Senior Sports Science Officer of the Scientific Conditioning Centre, the Sports Science Testing Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: 

  • To conduct exercise testing;
  • To assist in training monitoring on physiological response of athletes;
  • To assist data interpretation and provide timely feedback to coaches and relevant parties;
  • To provide both local and overseas on-field support to elite sport teams;
  • To assist data analysis and perform report writing;
  • To assist in investigating new technology, assess it's validity and application to HKSI athletes, and report on it;
  • To maintain the physiological data bank; 
  • To perform regular maintenance on the Sport Physiology equipment;
  • To assist in research projects; and
  • To perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

THE REQUIREMENTS
  • Applicants should have (1) at least 5 passes in HKCEE or 5 HKDSE subjects with at least Level 2 or equivalent, including English, Chinese and Mathematics; or (2) any post secondary qualification; 
  • A university degree in sports science or related disciplines is an advantage;
  • A minimum of six months part-time experience in sports science or having been an athlete within a high performance system and exposed to applied sports science or research is an advantage;
  • Good interpersonal and planning skills;
  • Able to work irregular hours and perform under pressure;
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. Ability to speak Putonghua is an advantage; and
  • Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.
