Since operating as a Trading Fund Department in 1995, Hongkong Post has become a market-oriented service organisation and grown beyond the traditional postal services to providing a diversified range of services from mail and logistics services, retail business to e-services in addition to the continuous drive to develop new markets, like those emerged from the growth of e-Commerce, in both local and international context. Major responsibilities:

  • To prepare, and/or manage consultants on structural design, drawings, details, schedules, calculations and specification, and to supervise the works and administer contracts for works projects under the Hongkong Post’s purview;
  • To advise on the maintenance of the structures of buildings;
  • To procure and administer consultant agreements, works contracts and term contracts;
  • To monitor and manage the performance of consultants, contractors and other works agents; and
  • To supervise technical and site supervisory staff.


  • Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) in Structural or Civil Discipline elected after 05 December 1975, or equivalent (Note 1);
  • Level 2 (Grade E before 2007) or above in both Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B before 2007) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and high proficiency in computer usage;
  • Good organisation, analytical, interpersonal, project planning/project management skills; and
  • Diligent, with great initiative and good analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Note 1 : For holders of qualifications in the Civil Discipline, experience in structural engineering design and practice is required. Candidates should clearly specify the discipline of their corporate membership and give a detailed account of their qualifications and experience in their application forms.

Terms of Appointment

2-year contract;

Monthly salary $61,060;

14 daysannual leave;

Gratuity payable plus Hongkong Post’s MPF contributions equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
