The postholder reports to the Head of Student Affairs and assists the Senior Student Counsellor. He/she is required to provide individual and group counselling services to students; handle crisis cases; conduct psychological assessment and survey; plan and conduct whole-person development training programmes and workshops; plan and conduct student induction programme and provide guidance to students; handle and provide guidance and advice on student finance assistance; provide support and training to staff members on student counselling; liaise with academic staff on student well-being matters; participate in team projects of the office and perform any other duties as assigned.

Applicants should:
(a) have a postgraduate degree in counselling, clinical psychology or related discipline;
(b) have at least five years of post-qualification experience in relevant fields;
(c) preferably be eligible to register in the Hong Kong Psychological Society, or certified by the Hong Kong Professional Counselling association or equivalent;
(d) be willing to work on flexible hours and experiences in student affairs are preferable;
(e) have good command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua will be an advantage; and
(f) have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong interest in working with youth.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a 2-year contract. A gratuity payment equal up to 15% of basic salary earned during the contract period will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
