Directly responsible to: Executive Secretary and Administrative Director

 

The Role:

The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Boötes’s marketing and student recruitment strategy. You will provide advice and guidance on student recruitment issues to including portfolio development using market intelligence. You will manage the gathering and use of data to inform faculty strategy and contribute to decision-making concerning the curriculum development plan and the institutions reputation. You will promote and raise awareness of the Art & Design Programmes at Boötes and its cooperation Partners with key internal and external interest groups by organising recruitment events and representing the Institution.

 

Major Duties:

Recruitment

  • Enhance existing/develop new relationships with schools and colleges and other organisations where appropriate Arts & Design applicants are to be found.
  • Develop and organise a range of faculty-level recruitment events (such as Conferences or Roadshows) by liaising with Key Faculties and relevant colleagues in Boötes.
  • Act as the lead for recruitment events, such as Open Days and other student recruiting activities.
  • Present the studies of the arts & design at Boötes and its Partners at appropriate events, and to visitors, applicants and families.
  • Develop and operate a management information system on student recruitment and produce reports for the Board of Boötes and its executive to inform the development of faculty policy and to target new recruitment potentials.
  • Service specific Admissions and Recruitment Committees and co-ordinate the business of this committee in conjunction with Boötes’ Studies.

 

Marketing

  • Take a lead role in developing and implementing Boötes’ marketing and student recruitment strategy to support the institutions strategic objectives with emphasis on developing the use of web,e-marketing and new media aligned with developing marketing and web strategies. This will involve working with other relevant colleagues ad program leaders.
  • Systematically gather market and competitor intelligence and conduct market research, disseminating findings across the faculty.
  • Work with the Boötes’ Executives and the Program Leaders of Postgraduate Studies to offer market intelligence relating to the revision and development of new portfolios of courses.
  • Develop a network of relevant marketing contacts within and outside the university and use this network to inform the development of faculty activity.

 

Other Duties

  • Attend the Postgraduate Studies Committee Meetings where appropriate.
  • Service certain sub-committees and ad hoc working groups.
  • To work with colleagues to provide an effective, efficient and friendly support service, including suggesting ways in which this service might be enhanced orimproved.
  • To undertake professional development, including annual performance and development review.

 

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business international relations, or related area
  • 3 years' experience recruiting local and international students to attend academic and/or other programs in a HK/CN setting
  • Experience developing and implementing a recruitment and marketing plan
  • Demonstrated administrative experience including budget and financial management processes, public relations, strategic planning, policy formation, and supervision
  • Experience developing a high-level marketing plan and seeing it through to completion
  • Ability to foster collaboration and trust, work collegially and inspire others to high levels of performance
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent ability to communicate with people from a wide variety of cultures and linguistic backgrounds
  • Good oral and written language command in English, Cantonese and Chinese

 

Desirable:

  • Master's degree
  • Experience working in a university/educational setting
  • Experience living, working or studying outside of HK
  • Experience with Sales-Force or equivalent CRM/database system
