Technical Managers I/II (holding the functional title of Clerk of Works/Assistant Clerk of Works) (several posts) in the Project Division of the Estates Office (Ref.: 499136) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary)

Applicants should possess a University degree with 3-5 years’ relevant experience; OR a Diploma with 6-8 years’ relevant experience; OR a Higher Certificate with 10 years’ relevant experience.  Possession of a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in accordance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (i.e. by attending the relevant safety training courses which are recognized by the Commissioner for Labour) or equivalent, is required.  The appointees should have working knowledge of computer software and good communication skills.  They should be proactive, willing to work under pressure and able to meet deadlines.  Those with less experience or qualification may be considered for appointment as Technical Manager II.  

The appointees will be responsible for the day-to-day contract administration, supervision of site works and interface works, programme monitoring, quality control, carrying out site inspections, witnessing on-site and off-site testing as directed, preparing site records, monitoring site housekeeping and safety.  They will liaise with the University’s academic departments, operations and maintenance team, and safety team, as well as external consultants and government authorities in relation to project and works execution.  The appointees may be required to work shifts, overtime and on public holidays subject to prior arrangement.
