Job Posting Details

The Design and Manufacturing Services Facility provides support to the engineering design and manufacturing needs of teaching and learning activities, academic research and industrial collaboration projects.  The Facility also provides the repair and maintenance services for sophisticated scientific instruments in research and teaching laboratories.  The appointee is expected to support design and fabrication of electronics/mechanical parts and equipment, and routine maintenance of machinery.  

Applicants should have at least a higher diploma, preferably a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electronics/electrical engineering with at least two years of working experience, preferably in tertiary institutions. Preference will be given to those who have experience in conventional machining; operation of WireCut machine/3D printers/coordinate measuring machine/materials research equipment/laser cut machine; CAM programming and operation of CNC machines; CAD modeling and computer-aided engineering analysis by CAE tools; development of micro-controller, PLC and single-chip computer and their programming; and troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment and robotics.  Applicants with less working experience may be considered for the post of Junior Technician. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
