Technology Liaison Officer (carrying the job title of ‘Knowledge Liaison Officer’)

The appointee will be responsible for maximising knowledge transfer opportunities (e.g. out-licensing, sponsored research, collaborative research, etc.) at CUHK by (a) working proactively with Faculty members and research staff to explore and identify potential CUHK research projects that can be translated into societal and economic benefits; (b) collecting business and/or community intelligence, identifying unmet needs in the industry/society and aligning the same with respective CUHK experts; (c) developing and practising marketing and partnership strategies to establish wider relationships with external organisations/commercial entities for the delivery of these technological and/or social innovations; and (d) providing assistance in the promotion of entrepreneurial and knowledge transfer culture at CUHK.

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in the Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacology, or related life science disciplines; (ii) at least 2 years’ work experience, of which at least 1 year’s post-doctoral experience; and (iii) high proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua). Experience in product/business development in commercial companies would be advantageous. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
