Established by the Hong Kong Government in 1989, OUHK today has developed into a young, dynamic, full-fledged university. We began offering full-time face-to-face programmes since 2001 and currently have about 10,000 full-time and 9,500 part-time students in the five Schools at the OUHK with about 220 programmes of studies. In addition, there are about 2,000 full-time/part-time students studying in LiPACE.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator of a research project on the use of IT for English Language Teaching.  The appointee shall mainly be responsible for the following:

  • searching and reviewing literature;
  • conducting classroom observations;
  • transcribing recordings;
  • editing or formatting manuscripts; and
  • carrying out other relevant work assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Requirements
Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • a recognized Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in the area of education and/or Applied Linguistics;
  • good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • knowledge of qualitative research methodologies and analysis; and
  • good communication skills.
 
Preference will be given to those who have relevant research experience.
 
Compensation Package
Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary full-time contract for a period of 8 months starting in mid or late February 2020.  Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
