Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 1982, has always been at the forefront of vocational and professional education and training (VPET). Hotel and Tourism Institute

Major Duties:
(a) To conduct classes and practical training in front office operation, including supervision of students’ projects and Integrated Learning Experience / Work-Integrated Learning;
(b) To prepare and update training materials and assist in curriculum development;
(c) To act as “Manager on Duty” and manage shifts periodically within The T Hotel;
(d) To supervise students from various departments and deliver hotel services to hotel guests and members of the public within The T Hotel;
(e) To assist with the routine maintenance of equipment / facilities of the section;
(f) To liaise with counterparts in the industry and other training institutions;
(g) To maintain and update department records and resources; and
(h) To assist with the recruitment and placement of students.

Requirements:
(a) A recognized higher diploma in the disciplines of hotel management or a relevant discipline, or equivalent;
(b) At least 3 years in front office operations from the hotel industry and/or teaching;
(c) Experience in hotel Sales & Marketing and/or Reservations would be an advantage;
(d) Proficiency in spoken and written English, Chinese and Putonghua;
(e) Knowledge and skills in Fidelio Opera system; and
(f) Ability to pass a trade test.

Notes :
(1) Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in the Requirement (a) above but possessing 8 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
(3) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
