Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Morrison Hill)

Major Duties:
(a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement;
(b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
(c) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
(d) To organise, coordinate and implement the projects / activities of the Student Development Office;
(e) To provide project training and workshops, as well as debriefing and coaching to students;
(f) To maintain and strengthen networking with relevant stakeholders;
(g) To prepare project proposals, financial records / reports, progress reports, evaluation and statistical report, and meeting notes, etc.;
(h) To assist in promoting events and projects of the Discipline;
(i) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and
(j) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.

Requirements:
(a) A recognised degree in Social Science, Social Work, Liberal Studies or relevant discipline or relevant professional qualifications, preferably with post-graduate qualifications;
(b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience;
(c) Solid experience in project management, event planning and promotion, and/or organising experiential learning programmes and collaboration with non-governmental organisations;
(d) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese;
(e) Good facilitation, coaching and problem-solving skills;
(f) Familiar with the use of IT and digitalization to facilitate project learning and delivery;
(g) Strong initiative, mature, confident and a good team player with the ability to work independently under pressure; and
(h) Experience in coaching, mentoring, teaching soft skills would be an advantage.

(1) The post is in the rank of Lecturer.
(2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
(3) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
