Our client is a prestigious bank with office in Hong Kong, to cope with their development, they are currently seeking for a seasoned professional as below:

 

Vice President (Compliance) position - Banking

 

Responsibilities

  • Directly reported to the General Manager / Head of Compliance in the bank’s head quarter
  • Manage a small team of around 10 staffs (including AML, general compliance, internal control & legal)
  • Act as person in charge of Legal & Compliance Team and/or counterpart for answering and managing on enquirers and questions raised by the regulatory bodies / agencies, judicial institutions and Hong Kong Association of Banks.
  • Handle all legal disputes and matters.
  • Formulate management and controls related policies and procedures on operational risk, compliance risk, reputation risk, anti-money laundering and fraud risk perspective.
  • Evaluate risk management tools and reporting mechanisms for designing operational risk model and compliance risks & controls.
  • Implement respective policies and procedures designed by business and operational unit / team under the first line of defense.
  • Report any operational risk losses / events / activities and to supervise rectification plan to take proper remedial actions, addressing the gaps through a newly established processes and procedures.
  • Provide advisory on operational risks, compliance, and anti-money laundering and fraud risk control and mitigation measures for a new product/business initiatives.
  • Conduct and delivery the bank's AML training plans
  • Provide advice to front line and other relevant units on AML related matters. Advise the management and associates on AML issues with a strong focus on business operation and product development.
  • Review Enhanced Due Diligence cases and relevant KYC documents submitted by business.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree holder or above in risk management and compliance is highly preferable.
  • Min of 10+ years of compliance and operational risk experience gained from banks or financial institutions.
  • Familiar with rules and regulations related to banking and financial institutions including Banking Ordinance, Code of Banking Practice, HKMA Supervisory Policy Manual, Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, and other relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledgeable with rules and regulations required by the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing in Hong Kong.
  • Solid banking compliance experience with strong sense of banking internal control frameworks.
  • Experience to interact with regulators like HKMA and SFC.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and managerial skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English, Cantonese & Mandarin.
  • Candidates with less experience would also be considered.
